Photographed at Countdown, Ripponlea, in 1977. Peter Allen was a regular performer on Countdown when in Australia – he remained the boy from Tenterfield with none of the affectations that often appear after success. He died from HIV related illness in 1992. His music lived on with the Broadway show The Boy From Oz starring Hugh Jackman.
